David Murfin

David Murfin is CEO of Murfin, Inc. whose interests include Murfin Drilling Company, Inc., a Kansas oil and gas production, exploration, and drilling company, and Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, one of John Deere’s largest North American construction dealers with 28 locations spanning six states. He is also involved with multiple other real estate and business interests.

Murfin received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and business administration from the University of Kansas in 1975. He is the most recent past chairman of the National Stripper Well Association, member of the National Petroleum Council, and immediate past chairman of the Kansas Chamber. He is a former president of Kansas Independent Oil & Gas Association, was a founding member of the Kansas Heart Hospital, and serves on the board of Goodwill. Murfin is a member of the Kansas University School of Business board of advisers and the board of trustees of the Kansas University Endowment Association.

In 2012 Murfin was recognized as “Hero of Industry” by the National Stripper Well Association and recipient of the Kansas University School of Business Distinguished Alumni Award.

David and his wife, Janet, have three grown children and three grandchildren, all of whom live in the Wichita area.
